We're hanging out right now watching Karate Kid 2 (the one from the 80s) on Netflix because it's a rainy day and we can't go out on the boat. Rough life, huh!
Conner had his last baseball game today - they lost 5-4, which was disappointing, but it was nice to go out with a good game. He had a great year and we're really proud of how hard te played every time he got on that field. Conner acquired a love for playing catcher and did an amazing job (if I do say so myself!).
Audrey played softball for the first time and got the hang of it by the end of the season. While she still doesn't run from one base to another (it's more of a slow jog), she did a great job of stopping the ball and throwing it to first base. She also had some nice hits (off of the coach pitched balls) and hardly had to use the tee by the end of the season.
We bought a ski boat late spring and have spent many a weekend afternoon on the river with our friends. Conner's tried skiing a couple of times (got up once!), the kids have done a lot of tubing, and we had fun with a friend's kneeboard last weekend, too.
Audrey's really excited about being a kindergartner this fall. We went out this week and got all of her school supplies; she's been carrying around her new bag (didn't want a backpack and got a messenger bag instead) ever since. I'm afraid we'll have to get new supplies again before school starts next month because she's worn these out! Conner's not as excited but does enjoy school once he's there. He had a good 2nd grade year, especially after we consulted with a doctor and made some adjustments for him in the spring. He's been a much nicer, more mature kid since then!
We've had a great summer so far; aside from the boat we've spent a lot of time at Coney Island with friends and this week hung out at Kings Island a couple of days. Audrey is about an inch and a half away from being able to ride the big stuff (Vortex, Racers, Beast!). They're growing up so quickly!
