Papa, Weyla, and the Zoo

Mom and Dad (aka Papa and Weyla) came down Friday night for a visit - Conner was sitting in a little rocking chair in the dining room waiting for them to pull up! Conner and Weyla spent Saturday morning playing Play-Doh, making cookies, and reading books (Audrey slept all morning) while I was at a baby shower. After I got home, we decided to make a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo.

It was a gray day, but we didn't have any rain (except for a few drops) until we made it back to the car at the end of our trip. It was a great day to go - there was almost no one there! We saw all kinds of animals; I think the favorites were the swimming polar bear and the penguins. We got to ride on the Merry-go-round and the train without any lines! We were at the zoo for about 2 hours, which is the perfect amount of time when you're with a sleepy 13-month old and a 4-year old (who hadn't had a nap until he slept for a few minutes on the way to dinner).

On the way home, we stopped to eat at a restaurant that's located in an antique mall on Kellogg Avenue. There's a neat room where they have a fireplace, a big leather couch, a pool table, some video games, and a flat screen TV (oh, and some tables to eat, too!). We were the only ones there, so Conner was able to run around without bothering anyone. He'd decided that he wasn't hungry and wanted to play some pool. The owner of the joint actually put some money in the pool table for him so he could play with all of the balls, which we thought was awfully nice. Dinner was good, too!

Both kids fell asleep on the way home and went straight to bed (by that time it was around 7:00). After Mom & Dad left, Eric passed out on the couch until I woke him up around 10... what an exciting evening it was in the Fouss home!
