A beautiful weekend

Conner's first t-ball game on Friday evening was a success. He had a great time, hit the ball well, and ran all over the place trying to field the ball, too! They play 2 innings - everyone bats, runs, and no one gets out despite what the defense does (and Conner's team would've gotten some of the kids out!). We were running a bit late in getting there, and Conner was the last batter. But because they all get to run the bases (one base at a time), they were loaded when he got up to bat. As the last batter he got an automatic home run, which means that he had a grand slam both times! If you're keeping track, that puts him at 8 RBI for his first game. No one else has more than 2. :) They were rained out this past Friday evening and have a busy schedule this coming week: practice on Tuesday & Thursday, pictures on Wednesday, and a game on Friday. And thus will be our week!

Chris & Sarah Boston (with Brian, 5, and Ashley, 2) came down Saturday night to stay over and then go with us to the Reds game on Sunday afternoon. The boys slept in Conner's room - Brian in the big bed and Conner on the trundle (by his choice!). It took a little while for them to get to sleep, but it wasn't as late as I thought it might be! Sunday was Miami day at the Reds game - the university president threw out the first pitch (we didn't get there in time for it), the pep band played, and the glee club sang. When we first discussed going I was worried about the weather - April in Ohio is so unpredictable! But when I was worrying about if it would be warm enough or be dry enough, I should've been worried that it would be too hot and too dry! It was crazy-hot - the car thermometer was showing 90+ when we were on our way out. By no means am I complaining, but we definitely got some sun! And the Reds won pretty handily, which was fun, too (though we were in line for hot dogs when the Reds scored 4/8 of their runs).

Took some funny pictures of Audrey the other night. I was trying to get pictures of her (humidity-induced) curly hair, and she wanted me to take pictures of her feet. She's so goofy!

This past week was pretty quiet - it rained quite a bit so Conner's practices were canceled. That was nice because I caught a cold and really didn't want to go sit in the crummy weather! I'm heading off to Chicago on Thursday morning (will get home early Saturday afternoon) for a school thing - it'll be nice to let Eric deal with the kids and t-ball for once!
